BUSINESS ANALYST I ASSIGNMENT VIA SUTTER HEALTH

LOCATION: ROSEVILLE, CA

START: JULY 2017

END: DECEMBER 2017- TENTATIVE

Sutter Health is looking for a Business Analyst to join the People Analytics team for a 6-month term to support HR workforce planning and forecasting initiatives. The business analyst is responsible for understanding, assessing, and eliciting the actual business and data needs of stakeholders beyond stakeholders’ expressed desires. This will be accomplished through effective stakeholder interviews, ability to quickly synthesize information, connect business concepts, understanding of metadata and data management concepts, and translate stakeholder needs into concrete business and data requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders and team members to understand and assess the information needs of stakeholders
  • Review and/or help define specific data element business definition values in partnership with business process owners, data governance/data management professionals and information architects
  • Review, manage, and capture metadata, document data lineage, review data profiling results, and document data quality problems
  • Under the direction of his/her assigned leader, the Business Analyst is expected to engage with assigned business stakeholders to develop knowledge and subject matter expertise of the business process, system of record, authoritative sources and their usage
  • Under the direction of his/her leader, will monitor document business rules in conjunction with business functional areas
  • Partner with source system owners, subject matter experts, and other data stewards to support implementation of a data management strategy
  • Develop and manage business relationships with associates, project team members, and senior leaders across the organization
  • Utilize standardized approach to capture and document metadata and issues across all assigned data domains
  • Integrate data from multiple data sources for varying levels of analysis (e.g. individual, organizational, system)
  • Using a process driven approach, assume ownership for the identification of key data elements and measures that drive critical business activities
  • Identify, analyze and report/resolve data issues, related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness
  • Develop and deliver status updates and presentations to senior management and stakeholders
  • Participate in data related working groups
  • All other duties as assigned
